We focus so much time on looking skinny, fit, beautiful and sporting the latest fashions, that we forget about the important things.
Although no one will be able to see your heart, lungs, liver etc from the outside that does not mean it isn’t important. Beauty starts within and I’m not talking about your personality. We should take better care of our “insides” and in time our “outsides” will look even better. Our heart is our main power source, without it everything else will shut down and cease to exist.
What we consume is very important to our health. Food doesn’t just go in-and-out, while in the stomach much of it is absorbed and transported to where it is needed in the body. “You are what you eat” is very true.
Eating healthy is not very difficult but here are a few ways in which you can change your diet to be more heart healthy:
- Beware of your portion sizes. People who eat large amounts until they feel stuffed are in danger of eating more calories than needed. On average it takes your brain 20 minutes to process if you are full, thus if you are still eating and you feel full you have definitely over eaten.
- As any healthy diet will prove eating more fruit and vegetables each day will benefit your health. Try avoiding coconut, vegetables with creamy sauces, fruit with added sugar and canned fruit. Try eating only fresh and raw fruits and vegetables.
- Be careful of eating cholesterol containing fats like butter, gravy, bacon fat, non-dairy creamers, margarine, chocolate and coconut. Your daily allowance of saturated fats is only 14g, your trans fat 2g and 300mg – 200mg of cholesterol depending on how high your levels are.
- Whole grains are great blood pressure regulating foods. They are also a great source of nutrients and fiber. Ground flaxseeds are very easy to incorporate into your diet as they can be added to hot cereals, yogurt and even in curries or stews depending on your taste. Limit your intake of white breads, doughnuts, biscuits, granola bars, cakes, pies, egg noodles, buttered popcorn and crackers containing high levels of fat. Stick to your whole grains, oatmeal and ground flaxseed.
To enhance your “Heart Healthy Diet” you can purchase an Ozone Therapy Sauna or go for a session. Ozone therapy is where high levels of oxygen are absorbed through the skin. In our world today we only have 30% of oxygen in our air supply where ozone therapy has 100%. Ozone helps fight bad cells in the body, improve healing and overall wellness. Ozone therapy will also improve blood circulation, neutralize toxins, clear plaque from arteries, break up cholesterol, combat hardening arteries and strengthen arterial walls.
What will you do about the health of your heart?
