Winter is drawing nearer for us in South Africa. This recipe is great when you spend most of your day in and out the cold. It’s all natural ingredients and rather cheap.
Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp Beeswax
- 1/2 cup Coconut oil
- 1/2 cup Grape seed oil
- 2 Green tea bags
- Water
- 1/4 cup Oats
- Lavender oil
Method:
- In a glass bowl melt the beeswax, coconut oil and grape seed oil together and mix well.
- Pour into a blender and leave to cool completely for about 15-20 minutes.
- In a cup seep the green tea bags in the 3/4 cup of hot water for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate pot cook the oats in 3/4 cup water for about 10 minutes. Set aside for about 30 minutes and strain.
- Then mix your 1/2 cup of green tea with the water from your oats.
- Cool completely. Its better to leave these mixtures overnight to be sure they are properly cooled.
- When cooled completely pour your oats and green tea water into a pitcher.
- Now it is time to start up your blender. Turn the blender to its highest speed and start pouring your oats and green tea water into your oil mixture. This should be done at a slow and steady speed.
- You will see the mixture in the blender will become “cream-like”. This is when your cream is ready. Please do not over mix as over mixing can cause your cream to split. Turn off the blender.
- Your cream is ready! It you like scents you are welcome to add a few drops of lavender or lemongrass essential oil.
- Store your cream in jars in a cool place or in the refrigerator to keep longer.
- Enjoy your new found cream!
