The main ingredient in any diet should be water. Water is the source of all life and if anything is deprived of it, it will surely weaken and ultimately die.
These are heavy words but they are true. We live in an evolved world and see sodas, fruit juices, energy drinks, tea and coffee as an equal to water. This is extremely far from the truth. Just because most fluids contain water does not mean it has the same benefits per milliliter.
Did you know that water makes up about 50-70% of your total body weight? Water is needed in the body to lubricate joints, protect and nourish the brain, help keep your body temperature stable and water aids in removing waste in the body through urination and bowel movements. Thus we can see that water is crucial in every part of our body. But how do we know we are dehydrated? The easiest way is to look at the colour of your urine. If it is a light straw colour then you are probably drinking enough water, but if your urine has a darker yellow colour you might be dehydrated. Also look out for these symptoms:
Early stage dehydration symptoms are:
- Headaches
- Loss of concentration
- Irritable Dizziness
Late stage dehydration symptoms are:
- Clumsiness
- Exhaustion
- Severe constipation
- Blurred vision
Last stages dehydration symptoms are:
- Vomiting
- Loss of consciousness
- Coma
- Death
You can be at in a late stage of dehydration for many years and these symptoms are a key in figuring out where you problem might lie, especially when it comes to frequent headaches, exhaustion and severe constipation. These symptoms can be very dangerous and might lead to other health problems in the long run.
In some countries we can no longer drink water from a tap. Bottled water is quite expensive and most people rather opt for sodas and fruit juices. Ozonated water is a great alternative as you can neutralize all bacteria and impurities in you normal tap water. Adding a mineral pack to the system will replace the minerals lost during ozonation. See our Ozone Water Dispensing system here.
