Stress and your health

We will all experience stress at some point or another in our lives. The main thing is how to deal with stress.

Stress, I believe, is the biggest killer there is. It deteriorates and kills your body slowly and one day, bam! You’re in the hospital. Stress can have irreversible effects on your body. Stress can drastically effect your memory, concentration, judgment and your mood. Other symptoms may include depression, anxiety, agitation, isolation from others, increase or decrease appetite, loss of libido, chest pain, diarrhea, constipation and loss of energy.

All the above symptoms can inhibit you from living a normal, healthy and outgoing lifestyle. This will result in further depression and anxiety, worsening all other symptoms you may be experiencing due to stress.

What may cause stress?

  • Major life changes
  • Work
  • School
  • Relationships
  • Finances
  • Busy agenda
  • Children
  • Family
  • Chronic worry
  • Pessimism
  • Negative thoughts
  • Unrealistic expectations
  • Perfectionism
  • Rigid thinking, lack of flexibility
  • All-or-nothing attitude
  • Over thinking things

What can you do to alleviate stress?

  1. Know your struggle with stress and be attentive on the things you do, say and think. The sooner you realize and admit that you have an issue the faster you will get rid of stress.
  2. Get a pet, pets are great for people suffering from anxiety, depression and stress.
  3. If  your stress is mainly at work, get a new job. Easier said than done, but I have experienced first hand how a bad working environment can damage your health and relationships due to high levels of stress.
  4. Take time out of each day for yourself and do something that you love doing.
  5. Eat a healthy diet.
  6. Exercise regularly.
  7. Sleep between 6-8 hour every night.
  8. Avoid stressful situations.

To improve your stress levels, you can opt for Ozone Therapy. Each Ozone Therapy session is about 30 minutes, and can relieve stress, combat anxiety and depression, increase oxygen levels in the blood improving memory, sleeping patterns and metabolism. Ozone will also boost you metabolism, combat irritability, combat mood swings, improve energy levels and improve your blood circulation.
