[Recipe] Quick & Easy Home-made Pizza Dough

Ever since I’ve started making my own pizza dough, I find it almost impossible to eat it anywhere else. The great thing about making your own pizza is “You Choose”! I’ve found that most places either make the base too thin or way too thick. When making your own pizza you can choose the “right” thickness for you. You can also choose your own toppings. No more picking our the pineapple or playing Where’s Wally with those pesky Peppers. You choose! Pizza has become one of my favourite things to make and the fun thing is that the varieties of toppings are endless.

This specific dough recipe i very simple to make and feel free to make mini pizzas if you just can decide what toppings you want. Just remember the smaller the pizza the quicker it bakes. Keep your peepers on the oven when making mini pizzas.


  • Cooking spray
  • 2 1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Package dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp & 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1 cup Water, lukewarm


  1. Preheat your oven to 200ºC (400ºF).
  2. Grease your pizza baking pan or any other baking pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, yeast. Use a fork.
  4. Add the olive oil.
  5. Add the water in small amounts and stir with fork. When the dough becomes more manageable, use your hands to combine.
  6. Knead gently for 5 minutes.
  7. Divide dough into 2. (I usually make 2 medium, thin based pizzas). Roll dough out until you’ve reached the desired thickness.
  8. Place on baking pan, cover and rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  9. Uncover and bake for 5-7 minutes.
  10. Remove from the oven. Add your toppings and bake for a further 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  11. Serve with wine/ beer and enjoy!
