Walking is the number one way of getting somewhere. To most toddlers learning how to walk it’s the best thing they will ever accomplish. Gone are the dreaded skid marks and sore hands from crawling, hello two feet!

As adults we take the fact of being able to walk and run for granted. We hate any unnecessary movement. How many of us is guilty of trying to park as close to a shopping centre as possible? As walking too far is out of the question. The other day I was part of a shocking conversation, this individual was talking about how difficult it was to get a parking close to a shopping centres entrance. When she realised that she will not be getting one close enough she left the shopping trip all together and rather went home. How can this be?

Have we gotten so lazy that we need everything a few steps away? Or should everything rather be delivered to our doors? After listening to this individual I started focusing more on how much I walk daily. Soon I started to realise that most of us is guilty of being a bit lazy. From that day on I’ve tried stopping a bit further from an entrance. Rather than phoning a colleague at work I get up, walk to their office and walk back.
