This delicious recipe is easy to make and yields about 1 litre of ice-cream. Remember to make ice-cream in advance as it will take at least 6 hours to serving time.
Ingredients:
- 400ml sweetened Condensed milk
- 150ml Evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 cups Whole milk
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 450g fresh Strawberries, coarsely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh Basil, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh Lemon juice
Method:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, sugar and salt.
- Cover and chill for about 2 hours.
- In a blender. Add the strawberries, basil and lemon juice. Pulse until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into the chilled milk mixture. Stir until combined.
- Pour the mixture into an ice-cream maker. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- When ready. Remove the container from the ice-cream maker. Place in freezer for 30 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture into an airtight, freezer friendly container and freeze for 3-4 hours, until firm.
- Serve and enjoy!
